Overview
Purrsephone is a 2011-introduced werecat and student at Monster High. She is the black-haired twin sister of Meowlody and part of a troublemaking trio led by Toralei Stripe.
Purrsephone is a 2011-introduced and all-around character. She is a werecat and a student at Monster High. Purrsephone, principally recognizable for her black hair, has a twin sister named Meowlody, who is principally recognizable for her white hair. Along with Toralei Stripe, their best friend, sib from another crib, and leader all rolled up in one, the trio are some of the worst causers of trouble at the school. Nonetheless, Purrsephone is rather sociable if caught alone and is usually the one trying to find a bright side to an unfortunate situation. Unlike Meowlody, Purrsephone is insecure about herself and constantly looking for ways to prove her value as an individual. Even though she and her sister go along well, Purrsephone hates when the two of them are conflated.
Portrayers
Purrsephone is voiced by America Young for cat sounds in English cartoons and Cindy Robinson in Great Scarrier Reef.
Purrsephone is rarely heard speaking, but she occasionally makes cat sounds. In the English version of the cartoon, credit for this goes to America Young, who also voices Toralei Stripe and Meowlody. In Great Scarrier Reef, she and Meowlody are voiced by Cindy Robinson.
Character
Purrsephone struggles with her identity as a twin, is cautious yet prank-prone, and has a secret bird allergy. She has a distinctive slate-gray werecat appearance with black hair.
Being a twin is a matter of cruelly balanced pros and cons to Purrsephone. On the one hand, she has a constant companion in her sister Meowlody. On the other, she and her sister's closeness is regularly perceived as interchangeability by others. Though Meowlody is more than fine with this, Purrsephone is determined to become recognized as an individual. She has yet to figure out a way to accomplish her goal, though.
Purrsephone has a more cautious nature between her and her sister, but she's still easily convinced by her sister and, presumably, Toralei Stripe to participate in risky pranks. On the other hand, Purrsephone is better at handling it when a prank backfires as long as she doesn't fare worse than her partners-in-crime.
Purrsephone has an allergy to birds, which is a secret to everyone outside of her family, because Purrsephone is embarrassed by how it affects her. Her allergy causes her hairballs and was why she and Meowlody had to part with their pet canary.
Purrsephone and Meowlody, being identical twins, are both slim, slate-gray-furred teenage werecats with triangle-shaped ears and signature long tails. The front of the faces of both sisters are colored white, and they also sport yellow eyes with slit pupils, thick eyelashes and wears makeup consisting of thick mascara, blue eyeshadow around their eyes, viva-magenta lipstick, and blue nail polish painted on their claw-like fingers, as well as their toenails. They also have long hair with straight bangs with black stripes, and white stripes on one of their arms and legs: in this case for Purrsephone, her hair is black with gray streaks and accents, while the stripes are located on her left arm and right leg respectively.
The twins' outfits are similar to Toralei Stripe, as they sport a "rebellious" look but with more feminine qualities - For Purrsephone's attire, she wears a cropped, open-zipped, orange studded frilled leather vest with a popped collar, worn over her white tank top with tiger-inspired stripes printed all over it. She also wears a hot-pink denim miniskirt and black calf-high, open-toed wedge boots with a belt strap on each sides, multiple laces, along with studs and deep-pink soles. Purrsephone accessorizes with two black studded bracelets, a deep-pink bracelet and fingerless orange biker glove on her right wrist, while she sports a hot-pink studded bracelet on her right wrist.
Relationships
Purrsephone's twin sister is Meowlody, with whom she shares a close bond and lives in a supportive household. Her best friends include Toralei Stripe and Meowlody, and she once had a pet canary.
Purrsephone is the twin sister of Meowlody. They live in a good household, where their pranks are not approved of but generally not reported on either. Their mother dotes on them and has so far denied Purrsephone the possibility to throw away embarrassing photos from when she was a child and affected by hairballs because she thinks the photos are cute.
Toralei Stripe says that Purrsephone and Meowlody are "like [her] sisters". This sentiment is presumably shared by Purrsephone.
Purrsephone's best pals in life are Meowlody and Toralei Stripe. Seems that her and her sisters are also friends with two mouse boys with who they like to play chase with.
Until some years ago, Purrsephone and Meowlody owned a male canary who would sing them awake every morning. However, Purrsephone developed an allergy to the bird, forcing the sisters to give him away. They still miss him.
Purrsephone does not seem to be looking for romantic involvement at the moment. However, she and Meowlody went for the same werewolf when looking for a dance partner, suggesting she has a similar taste in dates as her sister.
