Students at Monster High watch a Vampire Majesty movie. Draculaura criticizes its inaccuracy regarding vampire history from Transylvania. Lord Stoker, interim vampire leader, seeks a fake queen and targets Draculaura.
Stoker deceives Draculaura into believing she is the queen. She travels to Transylvania with friends Robecca Steam, Clawdeen Wolf, and Cleo de Nile. They discover the true queen is Elissabat (aka Veronica Von Vamp), Stoker's niece, and follow clues from Transylvania to Londoom, New Goreleans, and Hauntlywood.
In Hauntlywood, they meet Honey Swamp, Clawdia Wolf, Viperine Gorgon, and Scareantino. Ghoulia Yelps realizes Veronica is Elissabat. Elissabat is crowned queen, granting Draculaura full vampire powers.
