The short lunch lady is a 2011-introduced and fiction-only character. She is an unspecified kind of monster and one of the two lunch ladies at Monster High along with Tall lunch lady. She usually has a smile ready for the students, but only if the favour is returned. Students who act out of line, whether to her or to her colleagues, swiftly learn she isn't all smile and patience.

- In "Bad Scare Day", Hackington served lunch in the Creepateria. This was before the short lunch lady was introduced. However, Hackington again concerned himself with food in "Fear-A-Mid Power", suggesting that among his many tasks at Monster High he also is the lunch ladies' occasional colleague and emergency replacement.
- The short lunch lady's design is based on that of the lunch ladies on the cover of a Monster Beat magazine in "New Ghoul @ School". The short lunch lady looks much like the one on the left side of the cover, but she's slightly more detailed and thinner.

In Fright On!, when Manny Taur comes crashing into the Creepateria and nearly tramples over Van Hellscream and Headless Headmistress Bloodgood, the short lunch lady protects them. After throwing the student an angered look, he makes his retreat.
In Volume 3, the short lunch lady attended the recycle-fashion show in the Creepateria in "Unearthed Day". She was again serving lunch in "Hoodoo That Voodoo That You Do". She makes a cameo appearance.
