Overview
Dustin is Twyla Boogeyman's pet dust bunny, transformed from a Night Terror.
Dustin is a 2023-introduced and all-around character. He used to be a Night Terror, a Gremlin that haunts dreamers with their worst nightmare, who Twyla Boogeyman had to defeat by overcoming her fear of growing up, in order to complete her boogeymonster rite of passage. In the process, Twyla accidentally ripped the wall of the dream world, allowing the Night Terror to terrorize her friends' dreams, forcing them to face their own fears. To save her friends, Twyla entered their dreams and, after overcoming her fears, was able to transform the Night Terror into a friendly Dust Bunny, whom Twyla befriended and adopted as a pet. Since then, Dustin has been living in Twyla’s dorm room, no longer residing in the dream world thanks to his owner’s ability to manifest dreams (including him) into the real world.

Description of Dustin's appearance and transformation.
Dustin is a light purple dust bunny with blue-gray eyes. In the cartoon, his pupils are dark purple and resemble buttons.
When he was a Night Terror, his fur was a harsher purple, and had a texture that was both sharper and messier in contrast to the soft cloudy texture his fur currently has. He also had bushy brows that were almost always furrowed.

References to Dustin in songs and merchandise.
The song Out of the Shadows makes a brief reference to how Dustin became Twyla's pet. Twyla sings about how she counts dust bunnies underneath her bed, and, by overcoming her fears, she was able to transform them into her friends. She even says "Hey, Dustin" after, further alluding to this.
